How can you create something that reflects two people - as individuals and as a couple - to stand beneath on their special day?

Max and Cassidy commissioned Mikaela for their their interfaith Jewish x Greek Orthodox wedding in Berkeley at the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park. The chuppah frame told their story, with every single element holding special meaning to them. Colors and graphic style were chosen to complement their wedding color palette, florals, and overall event vision. (They even had a tarot card reader on site during the party as the graphic style of the cards was some of their inspiration for the wedding frame.)

The mood board.

In this case, the clients came in with a clear sense of what they wanted and provided this inspiration board to accompany their decor, florals, and overall wedding vision.

The deep dive.

We then dug deeper into who they were as people and as a couple - religiously, spiritually, socially. We discussed what certain places and memories meant to them and why they mattered. This beautiful messy middle is the most important part of projects like these: being open with your thoughts, associations, and opinions, talking them through, and being honest together.

Every single element, visually, metaphorically, or literally, holds deep meaning to them:

Their dog’s paw prints, abstracted shapes related to their travel stories, flowers and elements specific to important places, a hybrid graphic style that reflected both their preferences (folk florals, cartoon, tarot cards, and tattoo line art), and an overall energy that felt whimsical, colorful, and bold - reflecting their personalities and the life they envision together.

The mobile mural lived on into the night as the backdrop for their photo booth.

And the best part… ‍ ‍

This canvas will be up on their wall at home forever.

Have a special event that needs meaningful signage, art, or decor?
